28th September 2004 - The Department of General Services (DGS) has launched its online registration process for the new Small Business Reserve Program. This Program will enable small businesses to bid online for state contracts.

The Department of General Services (DGS) has launched its online registration process for the new Small Business Reserve Program. This Program will enable small businesses to bid online for state contracts.

Now small entrepreneurs won’t have to compete with larger and more established companies to get  contracts, the Department of General Services (DGS) said on Monday.

This Program will be effective from 1st October, 2004. This Program makes it manadatory for 22 state agencies to restructure their procurement processes so that at least 10% of the total requirement dollars can be spent in doing business with qualified small businesses.

Merchants can register online through DGS website, www.dgs.md.us .
